In our final post in this series, we cover ongoing service and maintenance. Although not technically a stage in the design and development process, ongoing service and maintenance is important to ensure your ventilation solution delivers optimal performance for many years to come.
After the project is complete and the building settles into normal working life, the maintenance and day to day operation of the building lies with the client’s own service personnel or is subcontracted to a specialist facility management company. In many cases the new staff are not always familiar with many aspects of the specialist items throughout the building. Although Operation and Maintenance manuals are provided, they are often written in a technical manner that is not always easy for the staff to understand initially, and so simple routine tasks can be missed and may only come to light when something fails to work correctly leading to unnecessary repairs.
At Vision Ventilation we stay in contact with the client and design team throughout the full design and production process so that we are available should any issues arise once all the works are complete. At the commissioning stage we provide detailed maintenance instruction and onsite tutorials to the new staff on what the system is, how it works and what routine maintenance is required.
All our projects are provided with a full comprehensive 12-month warranty as standard, but we do recommend the client takes out a service contract with Vision to look after their specialist natural ventilation system. Routine maintenance and cleaning are essential for longevity with many of our bespoke systems having been in service for over 20 years all in perfect working condition thanks to our skilled site engineers.

We have recently completed our bi-annual service at Mossbourne Community Academy.
