The World Wildlife Foundation building is fitted with four large rotating wind cowls that have been routinely maintained for 15 years. However, on the last inspection it was found that the rotation of the cowls was stiff and not as responsive to low wind speeds as originally designed. It was proposed that the complete bearing arrangement be refurbished so we stripped down the main bearing cassettes, and we found that many of the bearings had rusted away. Everything was replaced to bring the cowls back to their original state and in addition, we cleaned the units that had not been washed since they were first installed.

At car park level there are six circular louvred turrets designed to bring fresh air into the building. Many of the blades had corroded away and needed to be replaced. We carried out a complete restoration of the units bring them back to life for another ten years.
